GARMENT CARE

At Other Theory we always strive to use the finest fabrics for our designs so you can enjoy them over and over again.
The care instructions on our garments’ labels will give you information on how to best care for them, making sure that they remain part of your wardrobe for a long time.

Leather

As a natural material, leather could be sensitive, so we suggest to take extra care of it. Preferably keep it protected from rain and rough surfaces which can damage its texture. Invest in professional cleaning when necessary.

Cotton

One of the most preferred and versatile materials, cotton is used to create different tactile finishes and has become an essential foundation for any wardrobe. It is machine washable and if worn and treated with care, will last for a long time.

Wool

Compared to other fibers, wools need less washing and will last longer between washes if you spot clean them where needed and simply air them out.
When washing, remember that wool fibers can be prone to pilling and felting, so it’s better to avoid high temperatures and friction. Always turn knits inside out when washing and avoid excessive use of fabric softeners. Set your washing machine to a cold wash and only use mild detergents.
Wet wool stretches easily, so lay your hand-washed knit on a clean towel, and gently roll it up to draw the water out. Unfurl, reshape your knit and let it dry on a new towel away from sun and heat to bring it back to its natural softness. Avoid tumble dry and always air dry if possible.

Silk

Defined by its soft and delicate feel, silk is one of our favorite materials and is used in different garments from our collections.
Correct care will ensure that your silk products will last for years without losing their quality. Have it professionally cleaned or wash by hand with mild detergent specially for silk as normal detergent can destroy the silk fibers.

Linen

Another favorite in Other Theory’s collections is linen, because of its natural touch and durability. Taking care of linen is easy and moreover, it grows softer and more lustrous with age.
You can either machine or hand wash it. Gentle washing machine cycle and mild soaps are best for this material. Do not tumble dry your linens, as it may leave permanent creasing and it definitely shortens the life of linen.
